EB8 Message of support: We are behind you

Posted October 12, 2011 by Paul O'Driscoll

My name's Paul, and I'm a union member like you, working for CITEC in Public Works. Like you, I spend my day working to deliver quality services to our community.

I've heard about what's been happening at Queensland Health. I know the department is ignoring you and wants you to take a real wages cut.

That's why I'm coming out to the rally this Thursday at lunchtime - to support you and your colleagues in your fight for a fair deal.

Rally at Parliament House
12pm Thursday 13 October

If you win recognition from Queensland Health, and a fair wages offer, then that helps us in our own collective agreement that will be coming up for negotiation later.

But more than that, I'm a member of a union because I believe all workers have the right to be treated fairly by their employer. When the government refuses to listen, I believe all workers have the responsibility to join together and show them that we believe in fairness.

Hope to see you at the rally,

Paul O'Driscoll
