Commitments that matter to our lives and our community

To build better lives, we all need strong public sector services and a state public sector with secure jobs, fair wages, and staff who are well-respected.

The outcome of this upcoming state election will influence all of these things for thousands of workers into the future. That's why it's so important that all union members, and the broader community, can see for themselves what politicians' plans are.

Recently we asked the lead candidates of the ALP, LNP, Katter's Australian Party and the Greens to talk directly to Together members about what their plans are for a strong public sector in Queensland.

These questions were asked on the basis of what Together delegates decided was of key concern to members.

You can watch their video message to you here

The politicians have made some of their plans clear, and it's especially important that everyone notes their promises to protect workers against forced retrenchments and to negotiate wages through a fair collective bargaining framework.

These are important commitments and should be highlighted as such to members of the community.

You can see written answers by politicians to Together's questions here and share them with friends.

PS. If you are having trouble watching the videos from your work computer, try viewing them over a home internet connection, or reading the written versions of each party's response to Together members.
