Change management proposal - Have your say!

There are a number of proposed change management processes taking place within Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

As union members it important that you know about these proposals and have a say about what is being proposed. 

Management have sent us the documentation surrounding a proposed optimisation of Townsville Community Health Services. You can read these three documents here, here and here

Your industrial provisions provide that any proposed change will need to demonstrate clear benefits such as enhanced service delivery to the community, improved efficiency and effectiveness and will follow the agreed change management processes as outlined in the Queensland Health Change Management Guidelines.

The proposed changes may result in changes in line management reporting and relocation of staff. Together members’ feedback is a vital part of the consultative process. Let us know what your thoughts on this process by emailing heather.hayes@together.org.au by COB Thursday 30 June 2016.

Long Term Temporary Staff

Townsville Health management have given a commitment to Together delegates at your consultative forum that a review of the employment status of all temporary employees who had been with Townsville HHS for two or more years would be undertaken in line with the  "Conversion of Temporary Employees to Permanent Status B52 policy" and will be completed by Mid to late July 2016.

You can read the temporary to permanent policy here and make an application directly to management now if you believe that you fulfill the criteria.

Delegates will continue to push management to discuss a process to convert the temporary members to permanent positions. 

Collectively, we will be in a much stronger position to ensure a temporary-to-permanent conversion as a united group than as individuals acting alone.

To ensure everyone has the best chance to secure a conversion, please forward this to your colleagues and ask those who are not members to join you so we can maximise employment permanency at Townsville HHS.
