Building Blocks. For Us. For Cairns

Posted March 1, 2012 by Alex Scott

Cairns is a great place to live, work and grow. Queensland's regions are the places that have made our state the place it is today, the place that attracts new families and the places where many people come to access important services.

Queensland's regional centres are growing as a result of the efforts of working families to build a better Queensland, and that means an increasing demand on the services that our communities rely on.

That's why we are hosting a forum of local candidates on Thursday 8 March at the Colonial Club, 18-26 Cannon Street, at 5:30 pm.

This is an opportunity for local public sector workers to hear from candidates about their plans for jobs and quality services in Cairns. Members will then have the chance to ask questions about jobs and investing in local services.

You can find more details about our Building Blocks campaign at www.together.org.au/buildingblocks, and RSVP by replying to alex@together.org.au

I know how proud Together members are of Cairns, and we can all be proud of the work that you do.

I'm asking you to join me at this special event. Now is the time to make sure Cairns can play a big part in the Queensland of the 21st century and recognise the role of public sector workers like to make this a reality.

I hope to see you there. Building Blocks. For us. For Cairns.
