Breakthrough - strike results in meeting with Minister

Posted August 9, 2011 by Alex Scott

Last week members across Queensland stopped work to demonstrate clearly to management that they are serious about pursuing a fair and reasonable outcome for the bargain around their wages and conditions for the next 3 years.

Following the state wide strike action the Minister for Main Roads, Hon Craig Wallace MP, contacted your union and requested an urgent meeting.

Your delegate negotiators and union representatives will meet with Minister Wallace this Thursday, 11 August 2011 at 12 noon

In the short time before this meeting YOU can make the difference.  Check out the Guide to Lobby your local MP on your campaign website (www.tmreda8.org.au) and get your local member on board to support your campaign.

Pick up the PHONE and call or email your local Member of Parliament (MP).  Let them know you need their help and ask them to call on Minister Wallace to make a deal - and make it fair for you, your family and your colleagues and their families.

If your local MP is not in their office get a commitment from their staff that they'll pass the message along urgently and get your MP to act before Thursday lunchtime.

Need to know which state electorate you live?  Need to find out who your local MP is and how to contact them?  Check out the Guide to Lobby your local MP on the resources section of your TMR EDA8 campaign website (www.qpsu.org.au/campaign/tmreda8/.

You'll find all the info you need in this document as well as links to check your enrolment details and a complete list of Queensland MPs and their contact details.

There's no time to waste - let's all get on the phones right now!
