EB9 & HPDO: Letter from the DG and your back pay

Posted by Together Queensland on December 20, 2016

Congratulations to the hundreds of members who have already sent an email to Minister Dick asking for him to deliver answers on back pay before Christmas. If you haven't already, email the Minister today to tell him to fix this right now.

This morning the Director-General, Michael Walsh, finally sent his response to the letter we sent him more than two weeks ago. You can see the letter here.

Congratulations! You are one step closer to having a new agreement! TMR employees have voted in support of the proposed EBA negotiated by union members.

In the new year, TMR will seek certification from the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and ensure all adjustments are completed as soon as possible with your pay increase applying from 1 July 2016.

eHealth - An update on your change management and 18 vacant positions

Posted by Together Queensland on December 14, 2016

Recently, Together delegates met with management to discuss the issue of the 18 vacant positions and the change management that is currently taking place within eHealth this week. Although we are yet to receive all the answers, there are a few outcomes worth sharing with members today.

eHealth delegates will now meet on a fortnightly basis with management, with our next meeting on Tuesday 20 December and we will send you a communication after each of these meetings.

EB9 & HPDO: Your back pay

Posted by Together Queensland on December 14, 2016

Email the Health Minister today to ask for an answer by Christmas.

Over the last few months Together members have met, rallied, stopped work and voted in over 140 Protected Action Ballots (PABs) to put pressure on Queensland Health and the government to get a better offer.

You have made a difference to what the next 3 years will look like for you at work. It was you who forced the government to give you a revised offer on 29 November but now QH and the Minister are dragging the chain again.

Child Safety members standing together for fairness

Posted by Together Communities Team on December 7, 2016

"That could have been me. It could be our CSSC next week."

Members across the state have been saying similar things since the announcement about the Caboolture case. Of course, any child death is a tragedy and few feel that more acutely than those of you who work so tirelessly every day to prevent terrible circumstances like this happening.

You won better employment security!

Posted by Together Queensland on December 6, 2016

Congratulations! Thanks to your hard work from next year temporary workers will have better rights and more employment security.  Last week the government with the support of the independents and Katter party passed amended legislation that will give public sector workers the right to lodge an appeal regarding the decision made not to convert them to permanent status. This will take effect in the new year.

This is a huge win for union members!

Offer documents received

Yesterday afternoon we received a new offer from the government to settle the EB9 and HPDO collective agreements.

On the basis of this new offer coming through, your delegates voted to suspend the rally outside Parliament House that we were planning to hold today (and all other industrial action) while members consider the new offer.

Tomorrow's rally outside Parliament House has been POSTPONED.
