Fund police staff member jobs before funding ‘nest egg’

On Wednesday the state government announced it would create an Education Trust using future revenue from the coal seam gas (CSG) industry – but for its first year, the “nest egg” would be funded by $32 million of general revenue. This comes right after the government has decided the QPS must cut hundreds of staff member jobs to meet its $27 million funding shortfall.

This November, Together men like me will be joining millions around Australia to swear: 

I swear never to commit, excuse, or remain silent about violence against women.


Members know that a state election looms around the corner in 2012 and that any election outcomes will likely spell one thing: Machinery of Government changes.

After the last state election in 2009, a major series of MoG changes were implemented across the public service which saw many departments amalgamate to form much larger departments, like the Department of Communities.
