It has been just a few weeks since the Establishment Management Program was introduced and in that time this initiative has had a significant and damaging effect on hundreds of members - whether that's because contracts are not being renewed, or through seeing colleagues leave and feeling the workload effects of a vacancy management program, or the cost of uncertainty for so many staff.

Congratulations on the success of our Labour Day activities over the last week. Together members turned out in large numbers and members and delegates spoke to the media about job security issues. See this interview with Steve Austin on ABC Radio Brisbane for one example of this coverage.

Mater rally for wages

Queensland Health has told the Mater that it will only fund 2.5% of the 3% negotiated for Health Practitioners, meaning that the hospital now has to find the remaining 0.5% increase from within its own budget.
