Statement on QIRC's decision on TMR agreement

Posted October 3, 2012 by Alex Scott

The Queensland Industrial Relations Commission has handed down a decision regarding the collective agreement for Queenslanders working at the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Together Secretary Alex Scott said today, “Our members at Transport and Main Roads will be receiving 2.5 per cent per annum over three years as well as additional payments.

“Members will retain conditions that the government is trying to strip out of other collective agreements including the Core.

“We are disappointed in the result but accept the decision of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission as the independent umpire.

“We believe that inflation will pick up above 2.5 per cent during the term of the agreement and the QIRC has made it clear that future agreements could reflect the higher inflation rate.”
