This Christmas season…

Posted December 24, 2013 by Together Queensland

Our thoughts are with our members working across Queensland’s public services who are prepared for one of the busiest times of the year.

Together Secretary Alex Scott said today, “This Christmas we remember everyone facing busy times working on valuable public services for communities.

“Our members are trained professionals who often times think of our community before themselves and are not easily replaced.

“Christmas is always busy for many public servants behind the scenes, including our allied health workers and our medical officers (doctors) at our health facilities and emergency departments.

“The holiday season is also quite busy for our members working across the Queensland Police Service (unsworn) as well as Queensland Corrective Services.

“We remember the good works of our members at Communities including child safety.

“Our thoughts are with our friends in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, our members including public servants who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

“We send best wishes to all Queenslanders who will be working throughout the holidays including those working in the media.

“We are also thankful for our families and friends who support members at work throughout the holidays.

“At this time of year our thoughts are also with members working in travel at airline contact centres and airports, assisting those flying away for their holidays.”
