What are your three CSSCs?

Did you get a chance to watch the video What it is like for a Child Protection Worker at the Office? It probably felt very familiar to you.

Since the start of this campaign, have you decided things will be different for you? Have you made one small change to improve your sense of well-being in the workplace?

This week you will find the video Reducing Stress in the Workplace: Exercises for Social Workers on the website.

There are lots of stress-reducing tips to be found there.

Beyond individual change, I now call members to action as a group during Child Protection Week. We want to bring home our key messages to our Minister Shannon Fentiman, when delegates meet with her on 15 September – this is in just two weeks!

Activity packs are on the way to your delegate/contact at your CSSC now for Child Protection Week - next week!

Inside each pack there are wrist bands that say "Expect Respect", stickers for each day of the week and the Three CSSC Tool. During the week, get together for morning tea or lunch and celebrate your excellent service to the families of Queensland.

And take time to fill out the Three CSSC Tool to express your worries, good things, hopes and dreams. If you need some inspiration, check out the one I completed!

Once completed, your delegate/contact will scan all the tools to us. The following week we will use the collation of the state wide member contribution as talking points with the Minister.  This is another step in advocating for better conditions.

One of my favourite sayings applies today - If not us, who? If not now, when?
